Palm Springs is the 10th-largest California city by land area. It is known for its hot springs, stylish hotels, golf courses and spas, museums, outdoor events and famous sights. There are many fine examples of midcentury-modern architecture. Palm Springs is a popular weekend destination on the west coast. The surrounding Coachella Valley offers hiking, biking and horseback riding trails. The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway are the world’s largest rotating tramcar (rotating slowly).
It takes 10-minute long (2.5 mile ride). The trip begins at Valley Station and ends at the Mountain Station, located at an elevation of 8,516 feet (Mount San Jacinto State Park). There are over 50 miles hiking trails.
Children under 3 years old are free but require a boarding pass which can only be obtained on the day of your visit from the Tram’s ticket booth. Children under 16 years must be accompanied by an adult of 21 years or older.

There are 107 miles ( 172.2 kilometers) by car from Los Angeles to Palm Springs, following the I-10 E route.
Los Angeles to Palm Springs are 1 hours 46 minutes (depends on the traffic) far apart, if you drive non-stop.
